Aleph Strategies conducted an independent evaluation of the Media Freedom Coalition (MFC), examining its performance over its first five years - from its inception in July 2019 to the end of 2024.
Our evaluation set out to assess the Coalition’s contributions to advancing media freedom and protecting journalist safety, explore the effectiveness of stakeholder coordination mechanisms, evaluate the sustainability of the MFC’s outcomes, and provide actionable recommendations for strengthening its impact going forward.
